Project Intern - Developing a fair and equitable rental system

Role Title: Project Intern - Developing a fair and equitable rental system

Organisation: St Vincent de Paul Society (Vinnies)

Internship Period: Semester 2 (July – October)

Location: Canningvale, Perth or Woodbridge

Role Description

Do you have accountancy skills? Vinnies Mental Health Services needs your help to explore a new rental model that encourages people who’ve faced tough circumstances to pursue work and build independence.
As an intern, you’ll: - Research rental models that adjust costs as tenants’ income grows, rather than taking a flat percentage. - Compare options and recommend the model that best supports independence while keeping the service financially sustainable. - Prepare a proposal for the CEO and Executive Team, showing how the recommended system advances a just, compassionate society. If the system obtains approval and the approach proves to be effective, the organization may advocate for other organizations and government housing to use a similar methodology. This is a great opportunity to have an impact on the lives of those living in poverty in Western Australia.
