Role Description

WFKA is seeking a motivated and creative Digital Storytelling Intern to help share the powerful stories behind our work.
This role will support the development of engaging digital content across social media platforms, website blogs and short-form video. The intern will play an important role in helping us tell the stories of: • The children who receive our wheelchairs • The volunteers who build them • The schools and community groups who fundraise for them • The impact of mobility on education and inclusion This is a meaningful opportunity for a student interested in communications, marketing, journalism, media, digital production or community development. Key Responsibilities • Assist in planning and scheduling social media content • Create engaging posts for Facebook and LinkedIn (and potentially help launch Instagram or other channels) • Draft website blog articles and impact stories • Support development of short and longer form videos and reels • Assist with filming and basic editing of content (if skilled in videography) • Capture photos and behind-the-scenes content at the Wangara factory • Contribute ideas for growing engagement and reach • Analyse basic performance metrics and provide recommendations

Wheelchairs for Kids is a registered not-for-profit organisation providing the transformative gift of mobility to children in developing countries.
We build a children's wheelchair, designed to World Health Organisation guidlines, that is fully adjustable and designed for rough terrains. Our wheelchairs are made in Perth by a team of volunteers with an average age of 74 years. Our Mission Statement To make a difference in the lives of mobility impaired children and their families around the world and to continue to build a community of volunteers who have purpose and camaraderie.
