Role Title: Evaluation Intern: Communications and Marketing Management

Internship Period: Summer (November - December)
Location: Busselton and from home
This role will evaluate the effectiveness of the City's current hybrid management model for marketing and communications. The student will work within the Stakeholder Relations team, supported by the Manager Stakeholder Relations and key staff, and may be required to interview other City of Busselton staff. The review will include:
- Assessment of current brand and communications management approach including a risk assessment on current model (NOTE: the City has already conducted an initial risk assessment to use as a baseline, so this would be reviewed/updated by the student).
- Assessment of the quality of various outputs by different teams - branding, communications (including social media), marketing activities, website content etc
- Efficiency and effectiveness of internal processes - double handling, website content review cycles, working relationships between teams, appropriate project/campaign planning, time delays, impact on quality of outputs.
- Identification of gaps and resourcing issues.
- Role requirements for future success - what skills and training do staff undertaking communications and marketing require.
- Recommendations for improvements to ensure future success, including the possibility of centralising management of communications and marketing and/or centralising approvals.
NOTE: This does not include an evaluation of the functionality and performance of the various systems being used by the City - these are being evaluated separately.
The City of Busselton is a fast-growing organisation delivering a vast range of facilities and services for its growing community.
