Role Description

King Edward Memorial Hospital (KEMH) is the specialist tertiary centre for abortion care in Western Australia, seeing complex and later gestation patients. KEMH performs both medical and surgical abortions. The Pregnancy Choices and Abortion Care (PCAC) team is made up of nurses, midwives and doctors, with support from allied health services, and they provide support to women as they access abortion care at KEMH.
PCAC have recently developed a RedCap database and forms to formalise data capture and simplify information gathering for PCAC. They wish to expand the capacity of the database including using it for research purposes. The intern would be responsible for conducting a literature review to inform a research ethics application. Additionally, the intern, in collaboration with relevant staff, would develop the ethics application. The intern does not necessarily need any medical knowledge, however, must acknowledge the rights of women to access abortion care.
