Role Description

The project intern role will provide support to the national projects manager to develop, promote and disseminate resources for NOFASD Australia's annual International FASD Awareness Day project. Around the world, the month of September is recognised as FASD awareness month to raise awareness of FASD and the importance of an alcohol free pregnancy. Community events to mark FASD Awareness Day provide opportunities to raise awareness about the risks of prenatal alcohol exposure. The Project Intern will be supervised by the Health Promotion Officer and engage with the National Projects Officer to assist with tasks to include contacting local government departments and businesses to organise the lighting up of landmarks, promoting International FASD Awareness Day with coffee franchisees to develop an awareness raising project, supporting with the development of social media and newsletter content and preparing community packs for distribution nationally. The successful intern will need to have strong interpersonal and writing skills and be confident communicating by phone and email with external agencies. In-house training will be provided.
