Role Description

The intern, in the role of Community Engagement Intern with the Neurological Council of WA, will support initiatives that strengthen connections across the neurological community. Their work will involve assisting with the coordination and delivery of Neufriends group activities and celebrations, helping to create inclusive opportunities for people with neurological conditions, their families, and carers to connect and engage. A key part of the role will be contributing to collaborative projects identified at the Community and Support Groups Leadership Forum. This may involve helping groups establish partnerships, supporting the design of new initiatives, and facilitating knowledge-sharing between different organisations. By contributing to both the practical and strategic aspects of community engagement, the intern will play a meaningful role in expanding the Council’s reach, building stronger networks, and supporting a more connected and resilient neurological community across Western Australia.

The Neurological Council of WA is the peak body for the Western Australian neurological sector and works in collaboration with research, health and disability professionals and organisations to champion brain health and increase community awareness, understanding and management of neurological conditions. We are also funded by WA Health to deliver Neurocare, our Community Neurological Nursing and Health Navigation Service.
