Role Title: Records and Filing System Review Intern
Organisation: Grandcarers WA Inc.
Internship Period: Semester 2 (July – October)
Location: Warwick
Grandcarers WA is a peer-led not-for-profit organisation that provides advocacy, support, and services to grandparents who are primary carers for their grandchildren across Western Australia. We are entirely volunteer-run and committed to improving outcomes for grandcarer families.
We are seeking a UWA intern to undertake a project focused on improving our central records and filing system. This is a meaningful opportunity for a student interested in governance, information management, or not-for-profit operations to gain practical experience and make a valuable contribution to our organisation.
The intern will be tasked with reviewing our current electronic and physical records management systems and developing a clearly defined process for maintaining and organising records electronically. The aim is to transition to a streamlined and sustainable system for filing, storing, and retrieving documents—including scanning paper records—while ensuring consistency, security, and compliance with best practice for not-for-profit governance.
GCWA advocates for the recognition and rights and of all grandcarers in WA. The dominant purpose of the association is the provision of relief for the benevolent needs of grandparents raising grandchildren to enable them to live full lives
