Role Title: Regional Activity Mapping Project - Intern 1

Internship Period: Summer (November - December)

Role Description

UWA engages with external stakeholders for the purpose of research, student placements, school and community engagement, networking etc. A project is underway to document these activities for the University. A list of the activities has been compiled (note: the list is not yet complete, but is far enough along to embark upon the mapping phase) and the next phase of this project is to map the activity geographically. We are seeking someone with the relevant technical skills to help with this mapping process. The work will involve the following:
1. Research and provide recommendations on the best software for mapping, e.g. Power BI, QGIS, or equivalent? 2. Help us determine how best to visually represent the data and most suitable user interface in order to meet our needs 3. Prepare the data, categorise, add geo-coding etc 4. Complete the mapping and present final product 5. If time permits - prepare user notes/instructions on how to maintain this moving forward (how to edit/add further activities to the map) and provide quick training session for the project staff responsible for the ongoing maintenance of it
