Role Title: UniIT FinOps, TBM & Asset Intelligence Internship (Intern 1)
Organisation: UWA IT
Internship Period: Summer (November - December)
Location: Crawley
UWA IT is seeking two interns to work together with the UniIT FinOps, Technology Business Management (TBM) and Asset Management Lead on a practical technology cost and asset intelligence project. The project will help UniIT create a clearer, more reliable view of its technology spend, software subscriptions, applications and associated assets, supporting better decisions about cost, ownership, renewals, lifecycle risk and future investment. The interns will review selected existing cost, contract, asset and application information; identify data-quality gaps; map relationships between technology assets, services, applications, vendors and costs; and develop practical data standards, process maps and reporting outputs. This is a hands-on opportunity for students interested in technology strategy, cloud economics, data analytics, IT asset management, enterprise architecture, ServiceNow or digital transformation.
Key project objectives are:
-Establish a practical baseline view of technology cost, asset and lifecycle information for an agreed pilot scope.
-Improve the quality, consistency and ownership of priority asset, software and application records.
-Map how business applications, application services, software subscriptions, vendors, assets and costs relate to one another.
-Identify data gaps, unclear ownership, lifecycle risk, renewal exposure and opportunities for improved reporting or automation.
-Produce reusable standards, process maps and handover materials.
UWA IT facilitates and supports the information technology requirements at UWA for both, staff and students.
