Role Description

The Justice Reinvestment Carnarvon Common Ground Project is a community led initiative in response to crime and youth-related issues in the Gascoyne region. Supported by the Gascoyne Development Commission, the project builds upon positive community engagement, leveraging local expertise and lived experiences to develop strategies that prevent crime and strengthen community bonds. It’s an initiative that empowers the community to lead their own solutions, that address the root causes of crime and promote long-term positive outcomes – to create a safer and more resilient community.
The internship will focus on evauating the Closing the Gap indicators for the Gascoyne region. This includes a better understanding of each indicator, the data that would be required at the level of the Gascoyne, and the organisations that would be able to share these data. The Closing the Gap analysis is closely related to the community survey task. Other indicators that show progress of the Common Ground project can be developed in collaboration with the project officers and project steering group.
