Role Description

Following review of its risk management program in 2024, the City of Fremantle recently completed its draft strategic risk maturity roadmap which outlines the sequence of recommended steps to be actioned over the next three years to elevate the maturity of its risk management program.
The Risk Management Support Intern will work closely with the Governance team to support the delivery of the strategies and activities outlined within the first year of the roadmap, assisting in the development of foundational enterprise risk management frameworks. Key tasks will include operational risk assessment planning and support and assisting in the development of the City’s risk appetite, risk frameworks, and risk management processes. Depending on availability and interest, the intern may also have the opportunity to observe or participate in internal working groups and contribute to shaping future risk management processes at the City. This is a great opportunity for a student who is curious to learn about the complexity of organisational uncertainty, and the strategies and decisions required by leaders to manage and respond to the risks which threaten an organisations long-term sustainability and ultimate success delivering its strategic objectives.
