Role Title: Project Intern: Volunteer Centre (Better Impact Rollout)

The intern will work with the City of Kwinana’s Volunteer Centre to support the active roll‑out of the Better Impact volunteer management software across internal City volunteer programs, beginning with library volunteers. The project focuses on documenting processes, developing user‑friendly guidance materials, and assisting with internal communication and engagement strategies to promote confident adoption by staff and volunteers.
Working under the guidance of the Volunteer Centre Coordinator, the intern will help design internal workflows, quick‑reference guides and communication tools to ensure volunteer‑involving teams adopt consistent approaches to onboarding, scheduling and communication via Better Impact. The role will also contribute to early evaluation of the roll‑out, building evidence for improved volunteer coordination systems aligned with the City’s Strategic Community Plan goal of fostering active citizenship and participation.
The internship sits within the City Life Directorate, offering hands‑on experience in community development, project delivery and organisational change within a local government setting.
The City of Kwinana is a local government area of Western Australia. It covers an area of approximately 118 square kilometres in metropolitan Perth, and lies about 38 km south of Perth central business district, via the Kwinana Freeway.
