Role Description

The Lions Hearing Aid Bank (LHAB) is operated by Ear Science Institute Australia. It refurbishes donated hearing aids, and provides these to several eligible agencies and communities in low- and middle-income countries. To improve governance, the LHAB has drafted a Donation Partner Application Questionnaire that will be used to assess eligibility to receive and provide hearing aids, and to report on activity. This Donation Partner Application Questionnaire requires validation by a panel of international experts. Alongside this activity, the intern will be trained to assist with cataloguing and evaluation of donated hearing aids.
Outputs of the internship: (i) a validated Donation Partner Application Questionnaire, (ii) a presentation to internal stakeholder, (iii) a draft of research publication for submission to a peer reviewed journal, (iv) an understanding of the operation of hearing aid bank, and the administration of a humanitarian relief program.
