Role Title: Induction Content Development Intern
Organisation: Public Sector Commission
Internship Period: Semester 1 (February - May)
Location: West Perth
This internship offers the opportunity to shape how new staff are introduced to the WA public sector.
The intern will lead the review and redevelopment of a series of animated videos currently used in the WA public sector staff induction (https://www.wa.gov.au/service/human-resource-management/training-and-development/induction-the-western-australian-public-sector).
Working closely with the Strategic Communications and Strategic Leadership and Talent teams, they will assess the existing animations, develop a clear positioning statement and identify the key messages new staff need to understand about the sector.
The intern uses this foundation to draft 6 new video scripts, creating a clear, consistent, inclusive and engaging voice and tone across the series. They will work with the Digital Communications Coordinator to learn how the Commission’s animation program is used and translate the scripts into storyboards.
This project also includes the development of content for a new induction section focused on capability and development, including the script and storyboard for an introductory video.
Throughout the project, the intern will present proposed content to staff from relevant teams at the Commission, gather their input and refine the materials. This role offers practical experience in content strategy, stakeholder engagement, scriptwriting, storyboarding and digital content development.

• Regulating: providing assurance, oversight and reporting
We strengthen the efficiency, effectiveness and capability of the public sector to meet existing and emerging needs, and deliver high quality services. This includes maintaining and advocating for public sector professionalism and integrity.
In essence, we are about the performance and improvement of both individuals and agencies.
