Role Description

The Dangerous Goods Safety Branch regulates the safe storage, handling, transport and use of dangerous goods across Western Australia, helping to protect people, property and the environment. The branch works closely with industry to manage risks and ensure compliance with dangerous goods legislation.
As an intern with the Dangerous Goods Safety Branch, you will contribute to a real compliance project that directly supports public and workplace safety. Your role will focus on assisting with the review and follow up of outstanding dangerous goods inspection notices issued under the Dangerous Goods Act. These inspections relate to real industrial sites and safety risks, and your work will help progress long standing matters toward resolution. You will work closely with experienced Dangerous Goods officers and communicate with site based industry contacts such as HSE officers or site managers. This internship offers practical exposure to regulatory operations, compliance workflows and professional engagement with industry, while giving you ownership of a defined project within a government safety regulator.
