The countdown is officially on for University of WA students Eloise Skoss and Brittany Quy before they jet to New York for the Global Citizen internship on July 31.
The pair will join the Global Policy and Advocacy team at Global Citizen for a three-month internship in the Big Apple.
Biomedical Science student Ms Skoss, 22, said she was hoping the experience would “give guidance” to the direction she hoped to take her future career.
“I am really hoping that I will find, in this experience, a bit more understanding of how that kind of area of NGOs, policy, research and lobbying works – and hopefully find a way that my skills fit into that,” the Manjimup local said.
Glen Forrest resident Ms Quy said the internship was the perfect match for her Masters of International Relations and International Law studies.
“Right now I would like to work in the field of human rights and policy and advocacy, so I thought this was a perfect fit,” the 24-year-old said.
“And it’s in New York, so how could I not want to go?”
