The McCusker Centre for Citizenship’s pilot Mentoring Program held a welcome morning tea for its mentors and mentees on Friday, 13 March 2020 at Love House.
The Mentoring Program connected six University of WA students (who have previously been involved in the Centre’s programs and activities) with a mentor from the not-for-profit, corporate, or government sectors with experience and leadership in actively contributing to their communities and in mentoring young people.
Academic Coordinator Jess Taylor said the morning tea was the first opportunity for many of the mentees and mentors to meet face-to-face.
“It was great to see leaders in our community so willing to take the time to support the development of the next generation of leaders,” Dr Taylor said.
This program will give mentees access to personalised support and advice from their mentor about how they can continue to contribute to the community and be an active citizen.
The 2020 Mentoring Program will run until October 2020.
