Role Title: Project Intern 2: Rural Allied Health Workforce across Scotland and Remote Australia

The intern will assist the team with initial scoping of the literature and setting up some parameters of an international collaboration project on remote allied health workforces across Scotland and Remote Australia. The focus of the project is to compare and describe student allied health placement and new graduate experiences in remote areas of Scotland (Highlands and Orkey Islands) and remote areas in the Pilbara and Midwest of Western Australia. The intern will be based in Geraldton and will have the opportunity to collaborate and interact with research team in WA and our Scottish colleagues to complete this task.
The WA Centre for Rural Health (WACRH) at The University of Western Australia is one of 16 Commonwealth-funded University Departments of Rural Health (UDRH) in Australia, located in the Midwest and Pilbara regions of Western Australia. WACRH aims to improve rural, remote and Aboriginal health through education, student placement support, research and community service activities, as well as to facilitate quality allied health, nursing and pharmacy clinical placements for students from all Australian universities. We work to improve the recruitment and retention of allied health, pharmacy and nursing (health) professionals in rural and remote Australia.
