Volunteer Intern

Role Title: Volunteer Intern

Organisation: Town of Victoria Park

Internship Period: Semester 1 (February - May)

Location: Town of Victoria Park, Perth

Role Description

The Town of Victoria Park (ToVP) is committed to fostering an engaged and vibrant community where residents can actively contribute to the well-being and development of their neighbourhood. Volunteering plays a vital role in this vision, providing residents with meaningful opportunities to give back, connect with others, and positively impact their local environment. Clear policies and practices that guide both volunteers and the ToVP are essential to ensuring that volunteering initiatives are carried out effectively, safely, and inclusively.
This internship project aims to assess and scope the current volunteering policies and practices within the Town of Victoria Park. It will provide an overview of existing structures, frameworks, and guidelines for volunteer engagement, including recruitment, onboarding, eligibility, screening, and recognition. In doing so, this project will identify strengths, areas for improvement, and potential opportunities to enhance the volunteer experience, while aligning with the Town's strategic objectives and fostering a culture of service and collaboration. The internship also includes support to deliver a National Volunteering Week event to help recognise volunteering in the Town with the Community Champions Award 2025. Through this, the ToVP aspires to build a sustainable, accessible, and inclusive volunteering ecosystem that supports the community's diverse needs.
