Role Description

The role is for a Project Intern to complete research into contemporary compliance and public engagement communications and to input into the design of Departmental communications programs that drive positive public engagement and effective educational packages to assist industry.
The role will be in the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation, Assurance Directorate. The Department is responsible for all environment and water regulation, creating a ‘one stop shop’ for industry and developers and greater opportunity for streamlining and simplifying regulation. Your work will focus on researching digital, print and oral communication and education approaches that deliver positive outcomes. Your research will be aimed at utilising DWER intelligence information to identifying emerging trends and issues and to develop processes and tools to assist in communicating with the public and educating operators on effective mitigation of environmental impacts. You will have the opportunity to trial your research using the Department's Environmental Watch media platforms.
