Project Intern, Design a new recycled technology pathway for social impact

Role Title: Project Intern, Design a new recycled technology pathway for social impact

Organisation: Hello Initiative

Internship Period: Semester 2 (July – October)

Location: Victoria Park

Role Description

Hello Initiative is a WA not-for-profit organisation that seeks to improve outcomes for young people (aged 10-17) who are engaged in the criminal justice system. Our flagship program is called the Mobile Support Project (MSP) where we connect vulnerable young people with recycled and refurbished smartphone devices to help them meet their court requirements.
The MSP has experienced significant demand in the last 6-months and the need has arisen to organise and expand the pathways we have in place for people to donate their disused smartphone devices. This internship will see the candidate apply their service design skills to help us re-imagine our mobile device donation pathways. This will include designing the pathways (community and business), identifying collateral / support materials required, and collecting stakeholder feedback. HI is a start-up meaning we can and do work flexibly. Subject to the intern’s capacity and interest, there is always the opportunity to explore and support in other business areas, such as hands-on project work, grant applications, project evaluations, risk management, HR, finance, or marketing activities. This role will work closely with the HI leadership team, including the CEO. Other key team members include the COO and the Program Coordinator.
