Scientific Literature Curator Intern

Role Title: Scientific Literature Curator Intern

Organisation: UWA Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research

Internship Period: Summer (November - December)

Location: Nedlands

Role Description

At the Harry Perkins Institute, we publish hundreds of research papers every year. Each paper represents a scientific discovery and often years of hard work. These papers are collated into a spreadsheet but that spreadsheet misses crucial information that would help us communicate our breakthroughs to our supporters and the general community. This role would involve reading the papers and categorising them into the area of research, the disease, the area of the body investigated, the team that contributed to the study, and a lay-friendly description of the work.
The primary purpose of this project is to finalise this database, however, there is an opportunity for the intern to develop digital content using this data.
