Organisation: Public Sector Commission
Internship Period: Semester 1 (February - May)
Location: West Perth
Workforce Diversity and Inclusion Branch
The role of the Public Sector Commission is to develop a future fit public service for the people of Western Australia. Planning is essential to building a diverse and inclusive workforce as this identifies the skills, knowledge, experiences and different ways of thinking necessary to develop a future fit sector.
Research is an important part of the planning process as it ensures our future actions and strategies are innovative, evidence based and able to meet new and arising challenges.
We need your help to explore the following questions:
• What changes might we see in workforce diversity and inclusion in the public sector post-2025?
• What are other jurisdictions doing in this space?
• Who are the key stakeholders and how may they be impacted?

The Public Sector Commission strives to develop a future-fit public service for the people of Western Australia. We do this by:
• Shaping: setting values, standards and expectations
• Building: helping our people do their best work and working with agencies to be the best they can be.
• Regulating: providing assurance, oversight and reporting
We strengthen the efficiency, effectiveness and capability of the public sector to meet existing and emerging needs, and deliver high quality services. This includes maintaining and advocating for public sector professionalism and integrity.
In essence, we are about the performance and improvement of both individuals and agencies.
