Bonds Content Development Intern

Role Title: Bonds Content Development Intern

Organisation: Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DEMIRS)

Internship Period: Semester 1 (February - May)

Location: Perth

Role Description

Consumer Protection Division is currently engaged in a project to implement changes to the Residential Tenancies Act 1987 (WA) which will fundamentally change how a tenant's bond can be released at the end of a tenancy.
The intern will engage with landlords, tenants and property managers who engage with the DEMIRS tenancy bond process to conduct and evaluate qualitative research to identify knowledge gaps and user experience issues for a more proficient use of the system. The key focus of the work will be tenants and groups representing disadvantaged tenants and private landlords. The Intern will be responsible to develop and conduct questions, surveys and communications to discover key barriers to users of the bonds system. If time permits the intern will work with the Consumer Protection Division's web content developers to translate the responses into useable web content. The intern will work with both the Bonds Administration and the Community Media and Engagement Branches of Consumer Protection and will need sufficient technical expertise to use several software packages. It is preferable for the intern to have a police check to allow access to key software.
