Role Description

The City of Vincent is about to embark on the development of a new community safety, crime prevention and homelessness plan.
We are looking for an Intern who can assist our Safer Vincent Advisor with: - Planning, organising and executing community, staff and stakeholder engagement activities, including attendance at meetings, workshops, events and other promotional activities; - Supporting promotional activities and networking efforts; - Conducting research on community needs, trends and potential partnership opportunities; - Assisting in gathering feedback from community members and stakeholders; and - Contributing to reports, evaluations and documentation of engagement initiatives. This role would suit an individual with strong written, interpersonal communication, research and analysis skills who may be studying in or would like to gain local government experience in a meaningful multi-disciplinary project encompassing many different issues applicable to community development, criminology, social impact, social work, public policy, urban planning, community engagement, communications, public health, psychology, philosophy or behavioral science. The role will be based at the City of Vincent Library in Leederville with the City's Ranger Services team, in walking distance to Leederville Train Station, the Oxford Street cafe-strip and free parking available onsite at the Loftus Centre if required.
