Role Title: Communications Intern - Heritage Storytelling

Location: State Library of Western Australia Perth Cultural Centre
This role will be based in the Communications and Marketing team at the State Library of Western Australia.
The State Library is a valued cultural institution with a mission to treasure stories, inspire possibilities and strengthen communities. One of the ways it does this is by collecting, preserving and sharing Western Australian documentary heritage, both historical and contemporary. These collections reflect the culture of Western Australia over time – its changing society, diverse communities, individual lives and connections with the world.
This internship project is to research and write short form articles for social media and other platforms.
Social purpose: making Western Australian heritage collections more accessible for the general public, with a particular focus on regional and multicultural stories.
Outcome: portfolio of published work, exposure to structure and workings of a cultural institution, understanding of public sector communications and marketing.
