Role Description

The Intern would be assisting in the Strategic Policy division of the Cyber Security Unit
Information security is a burgeoning area of endeavour with interesting and lucrative career prospects. The main objective of the Internship is to assist the Director, the Principal Policy Officer and the Engagement Lead with the development of a workforce development plan (WDP) for WA Government Cyber Security. • A WDP is needed for cyber security to identify the skills the WA Government requires to meet its goals outlined within the WA Digital Strategy and the WA Government Cyber Security Policy • Cyber Security roles are continually evolving, the WDP will compare existing skills and jdfs with those jobs that are needed or anticipated in the future. • The WDF will be used to establish strategies and programs that build the WA government’s cyber security workforce. • To meet the requirements of this task, the intern will undertake directed research review national and international capability frameworks for staff working in information security and review jdfs to reflect best practice. • The intern will also be asked to undertake research tasks to support policy and strategy development objectives. Mentorship will be provided and tasks will be tailored following a discussion with the intern, to also develop the intern’s career interests.
