Role Description

As an Emergency Management Intern, you will support the development and improvement of emergency preparedness across aged care. Working within the Work, Health & Safety Team, you will assist in reviewing and updating emergency response plans, contributing to staff training resources, and developing clear and practical documentation (such as evacuation diagrams, emergency contacts, and fire panel instructions).
You will collaborate closely with site-based leadership teams and WHS Representatives. Your work may also involve engaging with external stakeholders such as emergency services and contractors. This internship offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in ensuring resident and staff safety while gaining practical experience in aged care compliance, crisis planning, and emergency communications. As part of your role, you will also help develop training packages that align with AS 3745 – Planning for Emergencies in Facilities and ensure materials support staff to meet compliance and best practice standards. You will work closely with the Emergency Management Consultant and liaise with Learning and Development, Workplace Health and Safety, and operational teams across aged care sites. This role offers valuable hands-on experience in emergency preparedness, training development, and the use of innovative technology in a real-world environment.
