Role Title: Event Intern
Organisation: WA Youth Jazz Orchestra (WAYJO)
Internship Period: Summer (November - December)
Location: Predominantly Maylands
Assisting WAYJO with the events management team. They will be working on our 2025 Auditions, our end of year production at the Quarry Amphitheatre and other performances. They will also assist our operations coordinator in developing our Pathways Programs for 2025.
There are also a lot of other areas they will be able to work in - time permitting. These include but are not limited to Marketing, Public Relations and Information Technology.
WAYJO's mission is to inspire and support the artistic development, life skills and wellbeing of young musicians by providing big band jazz learning and performance opportunities in a nurturing environment. Over 40 years, WAYJO has supported thousands of young musicians, many of whom have become eminent contemporary artists on the national and international scene, prominent music educators, cultural ambassadors, and community and business leaders. We maintain three orchestras and curate an annual large-scale concert season, regional tours, and international creative exchange projects; commission young composers; and conduct workshops and pathway programs, including one dedicated to female and gender diverse youths.
