Role Description

The role is for a Project Intern to complete research into contemporary compliance behavioural patterns and to input into the design of Departmental training programs that provide our staff with the tools to foster positive engagement with the Operators and public that we work with.
The role will be in the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation, Assurance Directorate. The Department is responsible for all environment and water regulation, creating a ‘one stop shop’ for industry and developers and greater opportunity for streamlining and simplifying regulation. Your work will focus on researching available behavioural science literature relating to compliance with legislation, interaction with law enforcement and regulatory personnel, and positive engagement approaches. The research will be aimed at identifying and developing training for DWER staff who are responsible for working with regulated industry to promote regulatory improvements and compliance. Your work will contribute to the effective delivery of Operational Assurance work at DWER.
