Role Title: Social Media Intern

Internship Period: Semester 2 (July – October)

Location: East Victoria Park

Role Description

This role will be responsible for establishing and curating the social media pages for the Sussex Street Community Law Service. We are an established community legal centre with a long history of fighting for social justice in our community. We have specialist programmes in Disability Discrimination and Family Violence Restraining Orders as well as a general legal practice. We currently have limited social media but there is a pressing demand for us to extend our presence online.
The aims of our social media pages are to: 1. Provide information about the services offered by SSCLS 2. Spotlight a particular area of our service on a rotational basis 3. Advertise upcoming events or outreach programmes 4. Respond to topical events as directed by management 5. Create engaging content We are highly motivated to integrate social media into our organisation. The tasks involved in this role are: 1. Consult with management to develop a communications strategy to best achieve the stated objectives above. Ideally, this strategy should be long term. 2. Design and publish static information content about access to our services 3. Coordinate staff to produce content relevant to their department for social media pages 4. Ensure upcoming events are promoted 5. Sourcing relevant material engage the audience Interns will be working in a high paced environment and should align to the principles of social justice and equity of access to legal services. We are a trauma informed practice.
