Role Title: Project Intern, Safer Advocacy and Information
Organisation: Women's Legal Services
Internship Period: Summer (November - December)
Location: Perth
The Safer Advocacy and Information in Legal Services (SAILS) Project has developed a series of training and other resources focused on improving knowledge and understanding of family, domestic and sexual violence (FDSV) by lawyers and legal professionals. Training includes information about FDSV, risk factors, intersectionalities, practice training and others. Currently, some training materials may be dependent on the knowledge of the presenter, need supporting documents to make them more easily transferable to others delivering the training. The intern would assist with developing resources such as training guides and student handouts based on the research and information developed for the project. The intern would also assist with developing other resources for use internally or across the sector.
These resources will need to be developed using appropriate, accessible language and accompanied by good brand-compliant formatting, pictures, graphics, etc. Content will need to be referenced appropriately.
We are a not for profit community legal centre providing legal advice, support and advocacy to WA women experiencing disadvantage. We work to promote a legal system that is safe, supportive, non-discriminatory and responsive to the needs of all women in our community, particularly those who face disadvantage. We believe that just and fair outcomes, as well as access to justice and support when needed, should not be dependent on gender.
