Systemic Advocacy Project Research Intern

Role Title: Systemic Advocacy Project Research Intern

Organisation: Kiind

Internship Period: Semester 2 (July – October)

Location: Nedlands

Role Description

This is a research and writing role to support implementation of Kiind's systemic advocacy strategy 2024-2025, working with our Systemic Advocacy Lead.
The role involves social research activities including conducting a literature review, implementing consultations (e.g. surveys), analysis and synthesis of consultation responses, writing position papers on our advocacy priorities, and other duties to support the systemic advocacy strategy, as required. Kiind is a peer-led organisation supporting families raising children and young people with disability or chronic conditions. Our systemic advocacy raises awareness of the issues and barriers faced by families in navigating the systems they interact with. We do this through engaging directly with parents and carers to understand the issues, writing position papers and submissions, participating in advisory and other consulting roles with government (state and federal) and engaging with sector partners to amplify the voices of families across systems such as health, education, and the NDIS.
