Role Description

Legal Aid WA is launching the Data Warehouse project from February 2024. The project seeks to develop a centralised digital repository designed to store, integrate, and manage Legal Aid WA’s core business data, and deploy reports in Power BI to the business. It will cover Warehouse Build, Data Visualization, Testing, and Deployment.
From July to October, the project will enter the stage of embedding business rules into the warehouse, creating data visualisations, and testing and deploying Priority 1 reports. The intern's role will be to assist in the following areas: a. Assist in data cleansing and pre-processing to ensure data quality. b. Assist in creating entity-relationship diagrams, understanding dimensional modelling (like star and snowflake schemas), and helping to define tables and relationships. c. Assist in documenting data warehousing processes, including the data sources, ETL processes, data models, and any specific transformations or algorithms used. d. If they have skills in BI tools, then create dashboards and reports. e. Testing: verifying data integrity, testing ETL processes, and ensuring that reports and dashboards work as expected. f. Determine and document business rules in existing reports and data objects.
