Role Description

Events play a vital role in local communities – bringing people together, establishing a sense of pride and connection, activating spaces, and creating vibrancy and fun.
As such, the City of Swan’s Events Officers are important members of the Communications and Engagement business unit. Working across the wider team and other stakeholders, you will be responsible for planning, developing and coordinating corporate, community and/or civic events, as well as assisting with the processing of public event applications. These events can may be small- to large- scale, depending on budget and levels of external funding, the purpose of the event, and the target audience. The key responsibilities of these roles may include: • Creating event plans, in collaboration with relevant internal and external stakeholders • Setting event budgets and monitoring expenditure • Negotiating and liaising with suppliers • Ensuring all relevant policies, risk management and WHS standards are adhered to • Attracting corporate partners and sponsors • Measuring the success and outcomes of events, and capturing lessons learned/areas for improvement.
