Role Title: Event Marketing & Support Intern

Internship Period: Semester 2 (July – October)

Role Description

The intern will be both marketing and supporting the necessary preparation for events being held by the Assocation for Culturally Appropriate Services (AfCAS) during the latter half of 2024.
The second semester includes a number of events that will require promotion, preparation and follow up including: * A volunteer Visitors' training and celebration session on 10 August 2024 called "Friendship, Music and Mindfulness with Seniors" * An online national webinar on "Respecting Human Rights of Seniors with Diverse Language Needs" on 2 October 2024 * The Annual General Meeting & Complementary presentation on 31 October 2024 between 9am and 11.30am The role includes incidental learning about procedures at Annual General Meetings and practical components of running effective events. Marketing will require the promotion using the website, social media as well as the use of Canva and PowerPoint and other relevant digital marketing tools and the use and update of contact lists in excel.

AfCAS advocates, actively fosters and supports organisations to provide culturally appropriate services for the CALD population regardless of geographic location or diversity of needs. We aim:
To foster a collaborative approach to member organisations to provide culturally appropriate services Facilitate access to specialised services for member organisations to support CALD clients, e.g. translating and interpreting, financial/reporting services. To promote and support members to establish and deliver culturally appropriate services Build capacity of the CALD service sector to be resilient and sustainable To advocate for improved quality, accountability and accessibility for delivery of services to the CALD community To work in partnership with other key agencies to avoid duplication of CALD services and promote efficient use of available resources
