Role Title: School Engagement Program Intern
Organisation: Invisible Illnesses
Internship Period: Summer (November - December)
Location: Warnbro
We’re looking for a passionate and organised leader to oversee our School Engagement Program—an initiative helping students, teachers, and parents understand what it’s like to live with an invisible illness.
You’ll be helping young people learn that different doesn’t mean less, and leading a team of dedicated volunteers delivering engaging, inclusive workshops in schools across WA.
In this role, you will:
Build, coordinate and grow our school engagement initiatives ready to deliver in 2026
Liaise with schools to schedule visits, workshops, and presentations
Support and mentor our School Engagement Coordinators and volunteers
Deliver or co-facilitate fun, age-appropriate sessions in schools
Build relationships with educators and community stakeholders
Help reduce stigma around invisible illnesses like ADHD, Autism, Fibromyalgia, PTSD, Chronic Fatigue, and more
What we’re looking for:
Strong organisational and leadership skills
Confidence speaking in front of groups (kids and adults)
A love for learning, inclusion, and youth empowerment
Experience in education, program coordination, or community engagement
Patience, empathy, and a passion for making a difference
To support, educate, and empower individuals living with invisible illnesses by making the invisible visible — through community connection, advocacy, and lived-experience leadership.
