Project Intern, Help us to reimagine our volunteer recruitment efforts

Role Title: Project Intern, Help us to reimagine our volunteer recruitment efforts

Organisation: Hello Initiative

Internship Period: Semester 2 (July – October)

Location: Victoria Park

Role Description

Hello Initiative is a WA not-for-profit organisation that seeks to improve outcomes for young people (aged 10-17) who are engaged in the criminal justice system. We deliver a variety of programs including our flagship project the Mobile Support Project and the Court Breakfast Project.
We are primarily volunteer-led, with a very small team of paid staff. Offering ‘gold-standard volunteering’ is a key strategic pillar for HI. As our service grows, we are looking to streamline and optimise our approach to attracting and retaining high quality volunteers. This will include assessing our volunteering needs, developing an understanding of the ideal volunteer applicants, and making recommendations for how to attract and retain the right people (i.e. what benefits can we offer our people?). HI is a start-up which means we work flexibly. Subject to the intern’s capacity and interest, there will also be the opportunity to explore and support in other business areas, such as grant applications and project evaluations, risk management, HR, finance, or marketing activities. This role will work closely with the HI leadership team, including the CEO. Other key team members include the COO, CPO, the Program Coordinator and the People Support Officer.
