Role Title: IT and Data Systems Intern, Data Migration Project
Organisation: Zonta House
Internship Period: Semester 1 (February - May)
Location: Willetton
Zonta House is in the process of shifting to a new client management system (CMS). Our current CMS provider has informed us that we would be able to download a backup file of database. However to access our data, we need to configure a new PostgreSQL database. A step-by-step guide can be found here: https://intercom.help/ssgpenelope/en/articles/5536344-penelope-data-return-data-retrieval.
The intern must be well-versed with Postgres and have sound understanding in best practices in installation, configuration, and security, to create a robust and efficient database environment. A key point however is that this database isn’t to replace our current system but serve as an archive to view and retrieve historical data only.
It's important to note that given this is a specialised project, the host organisation is unable to provide any technical IT support to the intern. However, the intern will be supported in terms of understanding the host data needs and how it’s relevant to the FDV sector. A motivated and resourceful intern with a curious mind would be ideal for this role.
