Role Description

The project will follow a structured process to ensure thorough preparation for the City of Mandurah’s application to the WHO Global Network of Age-Friendly Cities and Communities.
1. Initial Assessment: The project will begin with a preliminary assessment of the current status of the City’s community's age-friendliness. This will involve reviewing existing policies, programs, and resources related to aging and community support. 2. Data Collection and Analysis: Following community consultations, the intern will help collate qualitative and quantitative data. This may include summarizing feedback, identifying common themes, and analysing existing demographic data related to the aging population. 3. Identifying Needs and Gaps: The data collected will be critically analysed to identify specific needs and gaps in current services and infrastructure. This analysis will highlight areas where improvements are necessary to align with the WHO’s age-friendly criteria. 4. Report Development: The intern will contribute to the development of a comprehensive report. This document will detail the findings from the data analysis, outline the current status of the community, and specify the requirements for advancing toward an age-friendly action plan. The project aims to ensure that the community is well-prepared and positioned to meet the criteria for the WHO Global Network of Age-Friendly Cities and Communities.
