Role Title: Research Intern - Links between Media use, mental health and youth wellbeing
Organisation: The Kids Research Institute Australia
Internship Period: Semester 1 (February - May)
Location: Nedlands
Researchers at The Kids Research Institute are partnering with colleagues from the Wrocester Polytechnic Institute in the USA to undertake a review of research exploring the links between media use, parental involvement, emotion regulation, and mental health and wellbeing in children, with the goal of producing a rapid or scoping review at an appropriate peer-reviewed journal (e.g., BMC Pediatrics, JMIR Mental Health).
We are seeking an intern who is interested in building their evidence synthesis skills, working with an international expert group, and who has an interest in role that technology (including social media use) plays in regulating emotion and managing wellbeing.
The Kids Research Institute Australia is based within the Perth Children’s Hospital, and is one of the largest, and most successful medical research institutes in Australia, comprising a dedicated and diverse team of around 1,000 staff, students and honoraries. We've created a bold blueprint that brings together community, researchers, practitioners, policy makers and funders, who share our vision to improve the health and wellbeing of children through excellence in research.
