Role Title: Project Intern, Design of Questionnaire and Baseline Study for Wellbeing in Aged Care
Organisation: Ballet 4 Wellbeing
Internship Period: Summer (November - December)
Location: Nedlands
'Ballet4Wellbeing' is a ballet inspired exercise programme for the elderly created by Lisa Purchas, Aurelien Scannella and Sandy Delasalle Scannella.
We require an intern for five weeks, three days a week, to create a baseline study and questionnaire so that we can quantify data by using statistically meaningful methods, to establish whether there is indeed the physical progress and mental buoyancy that we would expect from our programme, including improved strength, posture, gait and balance; along with evidence of mood improvement, less anxiety, improved memory, less depression, reduced need for medication, or other wellbeing indicators.
We propose to run blocks of classes over ten weeks with participants attending classes once a week compared with other groups who will attend classes twice a week for the same duration.
The intern will be working with the directors and co-founders of the Company along with participants in the programme in various aged care settings.
Ballet 4 Wellbeing is a unique ballet Inspired exercise programme for the elderly to improve balance, posture, strength and coordination. Proven to improve mood and reduce the risk of falls. The music selection in our classes is chosen to inspire, motivate, cue and relax, reducing tension often held in the body.
Our Ballet4Wellbeing values are Discretion, Integrity, Dignity and Safe practice.
