Payroll Analysis on Gender Equality Intern

Role Title: Payroll Analysis on Gender Equality Intern

Organisation: Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation

Internship Period: Semester 1 (February - May)

Location: Perth CBD

Role Description

The intern will contribute towards the annual gender pay gap audit and compare performance to sector-wide results.
As part of the PSC Quarterly Entity Profile (QEP), the department is provided data on the median equivalent annual salary of men, the median equivalent annual salary of women and the gender pay gap. This allows us to undertake an annual gender pay gap audit, including undertaking our own specific calculations (for example, to calculate the gender pay gap for a particular occupation, or a particular aspect of pay such as overtime). In preparation for this audit, we require an intern to utilise the QEP to identify gender data of interest and explore recommended methods (or tools) for calculating our individual agency gender pay gap. The role will require collaboration with the People and Culture and Payroll Services teams, with potential interaction with other members engaged in gender equality initiatives.
